Start by applying after a shower leaving the beard slightly damp to make it easy to work the balm into the beard and skin. How much depends on the thickness and length of your beard, Once you have rubbed the beard balmb etween the fingers and massaged it into the beard, use a high-quality beard comb to distribute the balm. 
The bristle of the brush will exfoliate the skin while a comb massages the skin underneath, stimulating better blood circulation. Before you go to bed at night, rinse with warm water. Repeat daily. You’ll notice that your beard becomes softer over time.
